As an independent transmission network operator within the VNG Group, ONTRAS – VNG Gastransport GmbH runs Germany’s second largest gas transmission network, with a length of 7,200 km, which guarantees secure gas supplies by working in close cooperation with European transmission networks and numerous distribution grids as well as gas storage facilities. The independent VNG Gasspeicher GmbH is the third largest national storage operator with a working gas capacity of 2.6 billion m³. Being strategically closely related to the VNG Group’s four core business areas and the energy market, the subsidiaries BALANCE VNG Bioenergie GmbH, VNG-Erdgastankstellen GmbH, ECG Erdgas-Consult GmbH, GDMcom Gesellschaft für Dokumentation und Telekommunikation mbH and ENERGIEUNION GmbH also compete successfully on the market.
