In the gas transport business segment, our customers profit from the services of ONTRAS – VNG Gastransport GmbH and trac-x Transport Capacity GmbH. ECG Erdgas-Consult GmbH develops know-how in the field of energy services and new technologies. GDMcom provides documentation and telecommunication services. And CCM Communication-Center Mitteldeutschland GmbH excels in high-quality communication services to support supply and disposal companies. Biomethane is the remit of BALANCE VNG Bioenergie GmbH and the company also coordinates related project develoments and services. ENERGIEUNION AG supports the gas and power trading activities of local utilities, regional distribution companies, power station operators and major industrial users.

The significance of domestic participations for VNG
VNG make use of its shareholdings in companies based in Germany to expand its market position at national level as well as develop new fields of business. The VNG Group holds direct and indirect participations in 44 domestic companies (as at February 3, 2009).

The significance of foreign participations for VNG
Via its participations and cooperations projects abroad, VNG is involved in the expansion of the respective national energy markets, thereby extending its export opportunities and entering new business areas, including the final user market. VNG's energy trading activities bring the company into contact with local and regional energy supply enterprises in Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The VNG Group holds direct and indirect participations in 16 foreign companies (as at February 3, 2009).
