Biomethane

Biomethane is the “green” equivalent of natural gas and can be fed into the gas grid following treatment.
For VNG, biomethane represents a further option for diversifying sources of supply. For the gas importer, the procurement of biomethane is also an opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy supplies from renewable resources and to climate protection.

VNG estimates that biomethane could realistically account for a share of up to 10 percent of German gas consumption in 2013.
