VNG – Verbundnetz Gas AG received certification as a family-friendly company from berufundfamilie gGmbH, an initiative of the Hertie Foundation, on August 24, 2009. One of the company’s goals is to continue to help its employees combine a career and a family. The audit logo, which VNG will be using in its internal and external communications, is a visible sign of this commitment.

Certification is based on a comprehensive audit of family-oriented measures already in place in an organization, such as the flexible working time arrangements in effect at VNG as well as extensive corporate health management programs. A target agreement on future measures drafted from the findings of the audit workshop will be implemented over coming years. Annual reports submitted to berufundfamilie gGmbH document progress in achieving these targets. A follow-up audit will be conducted every three years.

Newly-certified companies are honoured at an annual ceremony, and VNG’s commitment to a family-friendly HR policy will be publically acknowledged at the next of these events which will take place in Berlin in June 2010.
